I feel like a loser

Today I am supposed to pick up my scholarship check. I only get 350$ per semester. I feel like a loser since my other thank you was not good enough so I have to write a VERY formal one. I almost feel like they addressed the email to me since I did it all wrong...it was short and to the point and addressed to the wrong person. I write it to the old head instead of the new head...well I didn't know who the new head was going to be. There were rumors but that was it. Anyway...the sample letter makes me look like a loser. I am not involved in to the college that much...I am not involved in any organizations. I haven't had any internships...I'm not a huge volunteer unless you count the stuff I did with SEES (went into elementary schools and talked to kids about science and stuff :) )...but no one cares about that. That's not impressive looking or anything. I don't even have huge plans for the future. I am going to try to get an internship this summer (past summers I had to catch up and took classes over the summer), and then in my senior year I want to be a mentor for the freshmen engineers for this class they have to take. They need lots of volunteers...but then again I might not even get past the interview stage of it. I just want to be a mentor so that I can encourage the freshmen class with their choice and stuff.

I feel like declining the scholarship now...I'm just a smart student. That's all...

Hair thing (public)

This is public and this is my hair thing. I am trying to grow it long...dunno about my goal. I'm working toward BSL since my growth has significantly slowed down to 1/2 inch per month. I will see how it looks from there and decide to go for waist or not. I am growing long hair for looks than for anything else.

Hair type: 2b/M
Thickness: ii (3.6" around--05/30/06)

Stuff my hair hates:

Stuff my hair likes:

<strike>    COing </strike>(stopped)

    aloe vera

REVIEWS AND INFORMATION ON WHEN I USED TO CO

Product reviews from when I COed:

1. Suave Aloe Vera: Nice conditioner. Doesn't really smell at all and cleaned so well. I was surprised...I had a super greasy head when I washed and it is perfectly clean now. Not very moisturizing because it's rather light in my opinion. Also didn't leave any residue like some of the heavier conditioners. Did not make my scalp itch even though I cover my scalp when I CO. I give this 3 stars. ***

2. Suave Freesia: Makes my scalp itch a little. I originally bought this because it contains Aloe Vera and the store was out of that. The smell is wonderful! It cleaned a little better than the Milk and Honey and my hair did not feel as dirty afterwards. * (1 stars)

3. Suave Milk and Honey: Left my hair feeling dirty but provided good slip. And the smell...oh, man...it smells like suntan lotion. Yuck! I would probably not buy this one again. It is rather mosturizing so...I guess it just was not for me. ** (2 stars)

4. Suave Passionflower: Cleans perfectly for COing! It is a little drying but it leaves my hair clean all day and then the next day. Usually I have that dirty build up type feel in my hair but not when using this one. The smell is wonderful, but it lingers all day. *** (3 stars)

5. Suave Tropical Coconut: Smell is amazing! Left hair with a good slip and my hair looked perfect for maybe half a day before I started having a feeling of dirtiness. It was also very runny! ** (2 stars)

6. VO5 Kiwi Lime Squeeze: Good conditioner for COing...I dunno what everyone is talking about when they say it is drying. I left this stuff on for 15 minutes and got the same results as with SKR and Tea Therapy! It was not squeaky clean...but just clean. I think this is my new favorite as it left my hair slightly cleaner than SKR and Tea Therapy. Definately worth a try unless you are worried about it being too drying. Maybe people didn't like it since it offers next to no moisturizers. Oh, well...I give it 5 stars! *****

7. VO5 Sun Kissed Raspberries: The smell is a little funky but I love this stuff either way. It is now going to be on my list of products that I use and will buy again. It builds up if I use it over and over again. Very moisturizing and sometimes after using this I wonder if it actually cleaned my hair since it feels like it is still greasy when it is in the shower, but after my hair dries it is clean. **** (4 stars)

8. VO5 Tangerine Tickle: If you can get past the strong Orange Pledge smell...it is actually a great conditioner to CO with. Left my hair super soft and SHINY! I will buy again despite the smell. The smell does go away after the hair is dry but does linger when it is wet. **** (4 stars)

9. VO5 Tea Therapy Tranquility: This stuff is the most perfect conditioner I have found for my COing. I cleans but at the same time conditions my hair. It gave an awesome slip. My hair felt so good after the shower that I knew it was good before it dried. My hair dried last night with so much volume and shininess. Did I mention soft? It was PERFECT hair for me. Never did I know my hair could be so shiny. This stuff also doesn't have that much of a smell, but a slight pleasant smell. It was very nourishing for me but not too rich. It was a good buy and I will definately be buying this one again! ***** (5 stars)

10. White Rain Energizing Citrus: Don't even waste your money. I tried this one night and thought it cleaned well despite the smell. The next time I washed my hair I thought I would use this again so to test it again. IT SUCKED! My hair was drier than it usually is...it also has this weird waxy texture like I got with Suave. I thought it might be good...but this is horrible! ** (2 stars)

11. White Rain Extra Body (old formula): Was I supposed to be incredably impressed by this? ...because I wasn't. Maybe WR just isn't for me. This conditioner was so-so. I mean it was a decent conditioner to CO with, but nothing more. It was a little hard to rinse out. I find I can't stand the texture of WR in general so I guess this is it for this little brand. It was worth a shot...I guess clarifying and using VO5 is the best for me. ***(3 stars)

Products I liked when I COed:

* VO5 Kiwi Lime Squeeze
* VO5 Tea Therapy Tranquility
* VO5 Sun Kissed Raspberry
* VO5 Tangerine Tickle

Products I hated when I COed:

* Suave Aloe Vera
* Suave Freesia
* Suave Passionflower
* Suave Tropical Coconut
* White Rain Energizing Citrus
___________________________________________

Products I want to try (in order):

    Avalon Organics Nourishing Lavender

Products currently in use:

Avalon Organics Glistening Ylang Ylang

Nature's Gate Hemp Nourishing Conditioner for Dry or Frizzy Hair (I figured it was the most nourishing one...)

Fruit of the Earth Aloe Vera Gel

Jojoba Oil (rarely...I use it mostly for skin)

Products Reviews for the non-COing routine:
1. Avalon Organics Glistening Ylang Ylang shampoo: Great other than it is still not mild enough for me. It is better than most sulfate shampoo but still strips more than I want. It got to the point where I dilute it. It really works better that way since it lathers like 20 times better. I like it a lot but as soon as I am done I am switching to the Lavender one. I should have gone with that one but I was afraid it would leave me greasy since some people had that problem. Now I have something to base it off of and realize I want that milder shampoo. **** (4 stars)

2. Nature's Gate Hemp Nourishing Conditioner: AWESOME! I was afraid at trying NG because they were the cheapest brand...but I decided to take the risk. Now I am happy I did. I like this conditioner very much and it is so nourishing! I do not have dry hair...just wavy hair with a lot of flyaways and this has greatly helped that. It's a little heavy and a little goes a long way for me...I made the mistake of using too much the first time so I know. Great slip too! **** (4 stars)

Routine:
Comb my hair when it gets tangled or yucky looking. No more brushing...that habit is GONE! Shampoo and condition daily...but shampoo is not very much and applied only to top of head. I like it better that way since I just got annoyed at all the greasy days. May return to everyother day when it gets colder. Right now it is too hot and it gets sweaty and yucky. Hair still seems fine and no increase in splits. I think as long as I stay away from heat styling it is okay.

Monthly Measurements:
~2006~
February: 16"
March: 17"
April: 18"
May: 19"
June: 19" (no change... )
July: 20"
August: 21" (as of 08/24)
